Barca sweeps Real Madrid again

[SPAIN] Of all Barcelona's accomplishments under second-year coach Pep Guardiola, this might be the most rewarding: it has played Real Madrid four times and won all four games. For the second year in a row, Barca completed a sweep with a 2-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday to take over first place in La Liga with seven games to play.

Lionel Messi scored his 27th league goal of the season and 40th in all competitions to put Barca ahead in the first half, and Pedro added to the lead 10 minutes into the second half.

"The title isn't won yet because there are some games left but this was a big step for us," said Messi. "We have beaten Real Madrid who we have a lot of respect for. We can be better than anyone if we have the desire and work hard."

The loss ended Real's 12-game winning streak.
