Barcelona forced to take bus to Milan

The air travel disruptions caused by Iceland’s volcanic eruption forced defending champion Barcelona to get on a bus Sunday and drive 394 miles to Cannes, France, on the first leg of a two-day journey to get to Milan -- normally a 90-minute flight -- for Tuesday's Champions League semifinal against Inter.

The Barca bus will complete the journey to Milan, another 218 miles, on Monday. Barcelona's airport reopened on Sunday but airports in northern Italy remained closed.

In France, Le Havre was forced to forfeit its game at Ajaccio when flights to the Corsican island were canceled. Almost 63,000 flights across Europe have been cancelled because of the volcanic eruption.
