Lyon aims for first final

[UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] Lyon aims for its first berth in the UEFA Champions League final when it hosts Bayern Munich Tuesday in the second leg of their semifinal series (TV: Fox Sports Net, live, 2:30 pm ET). Bayern, which carries a 1-0 lead from the first leg into Tuesday's game at stade Gerland, has all sorts of injury problems, while Lyon is rested after controversially having been granted the weekend off by the French league.

Bayern defenders Martin Demichelis, Daniel Van Buyten and Diego Contento are all injured and doubtful for the second leg. Ukrainian Anatoliy Tymoshchuk was left back in Munich.

Frank Ribery, red carded in the first leg, is suspended for the second leg, but Dutchman Mark van Bommel, who missed the first leg because of suspension, returns to the midfield.

Lyon isn't at full strength, either. Jeremy Toulalan is suspended after picking up a red card in Munich, and there are concerns that Brazilian captain Cris won't be able to play because of a knee injury.

The only French clubs to play in the European Cup final are Reims (1956, 1959), St. Etienne (1977), Marseille (1991, 1993) and Monaco (2004).

Probable lineups:
Lyon -- 1-Hugo Lloris; 13-Anthony Reveillere, 4-Jean-Alain Boumsong, 3-Cris (or 41-Maxime Gonalons), 20-Aly Cissokho; 41-Maxime Gonalons (or 17-Jean Makoun), 6-Kim Kallstrom; 10-Ederson, 8-Miralem Pjanic, 19-Cesar Delgado; 9-Lisandro Lopez.
