U.S. national team weekend

[AMERICANS ABROAD] All three U.S. keepers were in action in the English Premier League on Saturday, but only Tim Howard's Everton earned a point, tying Stoke City, 0-0, on the road.

Brad Friedel's Aston Villa lost at Manchester City, 3-1. The result all but ended Villa's bid to claim fourth place -- which is worth a berth in next season's UEFA Champions League preliminary round.

Marcus Hahnemann's Wolves fell at Portsmouth, 3-1, but got avoided relegation when Burnley fell at Birmingham, 2-1.

DaMarcus Beasley played his first Scottish Premier League game for champion Rangers in more than a month, coming on early in its 2-1 win at Dundee United. For all the Saturday action ...
