Kaka insists he'll be ready

[BRAZIL] Considering the long list of stars whom Brazil passed on, the recent dip in form of Kaka, the star who is going to the World Cup, is worrying to millions of fans of the five-time world champions. The Real Madrid midfielder tried allay those fears as he began a personal fitness program before heading to pre-World Cup training camp on Friday.

Of the big-name stars headed to South Africa, Kaka endured the roughest season -- his first at Real Madrid after leaving AC Milan in a $90 million transfer deal.

"It was a very difficult season which I had," he said, "but we have examples of players who were not in good form before the World Cup and ended up doing well, so I'm not worried."

Real Madrid played at Malaga on Sunday with La Liga title in play, but Kaka didn't play.

Kaka, who was sidelined with with a hamstring problem, will spend four days at Sao Paulo before heading to training camp on Friday in Curitiba.

"I'm going to Sao Paulo to be evaluated, they will see my condition and that I won't have any problems," he said. "I will be 100 percent by the World Cup."
