Donovan: 'Last year was priceless'

[USA 30] At the second day of the U.S. national team training camp for the World Cup, most of the players had arrived and gotten their physicals out of the way. One of them was star Landon Donovan, who is preparing for his third World Cup.

Donovan said that like most of the teams at the World Cup the USA's goal is to get out of the first round and after that ...

"We know from our experience last year," he said, "that we can compete with anyone."

Donovan is only one of seven players of the 30 in camp who has played in a World Cup, but he says the USA will take an experienced team to South Africa.

"Last year was priceless for us playing in the Confederations Cup," he said.
