[ARGENTINA] Diego Maradona and the press sure don't go together. In the latest incident involving the Argentina national
team coach, he accidentally ran over the leg of a cameraman as he was driving to Wednesday's press conference in Buenos Aires to announce his 23-player roster for the World Cup and was surrounded by
journalists and cameramen. To make matters, Maradona insulted the injured cameraman ...
According to a witness, Maradona shouted from his car, "What an a****** you are. How can you put
your leg there where it can get run over, man?"
The cameraman was taken away for treatment for minor injuries and Maradona apologized the next day.
Maradona had been
suspended by FIFA for two months after he unleashed a profanity-laced attack on the press at the media conference that followed Argentina's qualification for the World Cup.
Maradona
incident:
According to Foxsoccer.com, Maradona apologized later. An unfortunate incident, proving media scrums are dangerous places. A little better crowd control, por favor!
Some journalists or photog gets a foot or a leg run over and they scream about how they were hit. Get out of the way! These kinds of people are just asking to get hurt. And it's not just about Maradona- the paparazzi who chase after actors and celebrities like Lindsay Lohan put themselves in situations like this, too. It's not as if the celebrities WANT to hit them. I'd tell this cameraman to man up and not get so close next time.
