Champions League debuts on Fox

[TELEVISION WATCH] To conclude its first year of coverage of the UEFA Champions League, Fox Sports is pulling out all the stops for Saturday's final between Inter Milan and Bayern Munich.

Besides the Sky Sports' game coverage on Fox and a 90-minute pregame show from Madrid on Fox Soccer Channel, Bruce Arena and Eric Wynalda will appear with Fox NFL Sunday host Curt Menefee on a special preshow.

Fox Soccer Channel begins with pregame coverage, a 90-minute pre-game show from Madrid, beginning at 1 p.m. ET.

In its first soccer broadcast, Fox's coverage begins at 2:30 p.m. ET with a 15-minute preshow hosted by Menefee – featuring analysis by Arena and Wynalda.

Martin Tyler is joined by analyst Andy Gray for Sky Sports' match coverage from the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Following the final, Tyler will turn his attention to the World Cup, which he will cover as ESPN's lead play-to-play man.

I would be more impressed to see it on HD, as ESPN has been doing for weveral years. The Fox showing in LA is not listed on DirecTv as HD. Does Fox have something against soccer fans, or is it just DirecTV?
