Gomez joins Torres at Pachuca

[AMERICANS ABROAD] Pachuca has snapped up American forward Herculez Gomez, whose 10 goals for Puebla tied him for the scoring lead in Mexico's Torneo Bicentenario.

The 28-year-old Gomez will join midfielder Jose Francisco Torres at Pachuca, winner of the 2010 Concacaf Champions League. Barring a move by Torres to another club, that means two Americans will be represented at this year's FIFA Club World Cup in December.

Gomez, who joined Puebla from the Kansas City Wizards, was first American to win or share the Mexican league’s regular-season scoring title, tying Javier Hernandez of Guadalajara and Johan Fano of Atlante.

Gomez and Torres are both at the U.S. World Cup training camp in Princeton, N.J.
