Mourinho set to stay in Madrid

[UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] After FC Porto six years ago, Jose Mourinho has led Inter Milan to the UEFA Champions League title but he says he's ready to move. Or stay in Madrid, site of Inter's 2-0 win over Bayern Munich in Saturday's final. Afterwards, Mourinho said he'll coach Real Madrid next season.

"My work here is done. I have made history with this club," the former Chelsea manager told Rai Sport after the game. "I will find motivations in another big club. Playing against Barcelona in Spain? That would be a big challenge."

With the win on Saturday, Mourinho became only the third manager to win two UEFA Champions Leagues with two different teams, after Austrian Ernst Happel and German Ottmar Hitzfeld.

Mourinho left FC Porto after its win over Monaco in 2004 and is all but certain to leave Inter. He said wasn't happy with Italian soccer.

"I have been very happy at Inter," he said, "but not in the world of Italian football because I don't like all the comments from presidents, coaches and papers. But, I will always like Inter. I want to thank Italian football because I have become a better coach for it. Now it's time for me to take a day or two to think about a new challenge in another country."

That country will be Spain.

"Everybody knows that English football is my passion and I'll go back to England once," he told Sky Sports. "But I think every player, every coach if you don't play for Real Madrid or if you don't coach Real Madrid you have always a little space in your career. So if I decide to come to Real Madrid, I'll be a very proud man."

Later in the evening, Mourinho confirmed that he'll join Real Madrid.
