[U.S. WOMEN] Abby Wambach scored two goals and assisted on another, and Kristine
Lilly (130th of her career) and Heather O’Reilly also scored to lead the USA to a 4-0 win over Germany in a battle of women's soccer's top two
teams.
The victory made it three wins in a row for the USA against Germany, the two-time Women's World Cup champion.
Wambach's first goal from the penalty spot was the 106th
of her career, moving her past Michelle Akers into sole possession of third place all the U.S. all-time scoring list, behind only Mia Hamm (158) and Lilly.
For Lilly, who played in her 345th game for the USA, it was her first goal in a U.S. uniform since Oct. 17, 2007.
Next up for the USA
will be two matches against Sweden, on July 13 in Omaha, Neb. and on July 17 in East Hartford, Conn.
