Irish celebrate France woes

[OFF THE POST] Commentators on Ireland's national TV broadcaster RTE wore sombreros while covering the France-Mexico game. Electronics chain Currys will offer a discount on TVs when France is knocked out of the World Cup. Pizza Hut in Ireland offering free pizzas every time a French opponent scores. And the Irish, still smarting from being eliminated from World Cup qualifying on a French goal set up by a handball, are celebrating France's World Cup struggles, which included a 2-0 loss to Mexico on Thursday.

"We had our sombreros out last night," out-of-work Dublin construction worker Paddy McCafferty told Reuters. "On Tuesday we'll be blowing our vuvuzelas in support of the South Africans."

Currys catch phrase is: "When the French lose, the Irish win." Pizza Hut's slogan is, "Pizzas 1, France 0," as unsportsmanlike.

Where else in the world under any country's sporting events/leagues are you going to find a rivalry as this feisty as this one, kudos to the Irish, am sure they'd have played better, harder and more inspiring football than the french....

I m so glad France is out, first of all they didn't deserve to be there because they cheated vs Ireland, second, they are the most "professional cy-babies" in occer. Who in he world do they really think they are? Hell, if it would have been up to me I would have uspended them immediately after the Anelka mess. He is another washed out cry-baby.
