Three USL-2 teams reach third round

[U.S. OPEN CUP] The Harrisburg City Islanders, Richmond Kickers and Charleston Battery of the USL-2 joined joined D-2 Pro League teams in advancing to the third round of the U.S. Open Cup, where they will face the eight MLS representatives in next week's third round.

The Battery knocked off the D-2 Carolina RailHawks, 2-1, on goals by Rudolph Mayard and Lamar Neagle.

Former Notre Dame star Bright Dike had a hat trick for the Portland Timbers in their 4-0 win over the PDL's Kitsap Pumas.
