final. The USA-hosted 1994 World Cup, which comprised of only 52 games, still holds the record at 3.59 million.
The second highest attended World Cup was Germany 2006 with 3.36 million spectators.
The average number of goals per game in South Africa was 2.27, down from 2.30 in Germany and 2.50 goals per game in Japan/South Korea in 2002. South Africa 2010 was the second-lowest scoring World Cup in history, after the 1990 tournament in Italy that had an average of 2.21.
