In what is apparently the final move of the Martin Jol Managerial Chess Match, Ajax Amsterdam has refused him a move to Fulham.
Jol and Fulham had agreed on a salary and
other personal terms but Ajax blocked any attempt by Fulham to negotiate a buyout of his Ajax contract. Jol took the Ajax job last year after working for several seasons at German Bundesliga club
Hamburg.
Does this move U.S. head coach Bob Bradley back into contention for the Fulham job?
I hope so (Bradley being picked). It certainly would be great to get rid of Bob Bradley. He was a horrible choice for US soccer. I hope Fulham takes him. Maybe he'll do better at the club level. Anyway, this would free up US soccer to hire Jurgen Klinsmann, coach thet could take US soccer and the Nationl Team to the next level, and the World Cup in 2014.
