Playmaker Yoann Gourcuff, whose differences with elder players on the French team were among the most-publicized conflicts within the troubled French camp atthe 2010 World Cup, has moved from Bordeaux to Lyon in a $28 million deal.

If the 24-year-old Gourcuff passes a medical, he will be the second major French signing for Lyon, which alsosigned forward Jimmy Briand from Rennes.

Lyon moved to sign Gourcuff after Brazilian midfielder Ederson waslost for several months with a severe hamstring injury suffered playing for Brazil against the USA in their recent friendly.

In other moves involving French internationals, championMarseille paid Toulouse $23 million for Andre-Pierre Gignac and hoped to announce the conclusion of a $20 million deal for LoicRemy, the Nice striker who was found to have a heart condition.
