Despite the English Premier League’s threat to come down hard this season on managers who don’t speak to media after games, Manchester United manager AlexFerguson continued his boycott of the BBC.

Fergie has not spoken to the BBC since a 2004 documentary about his son Jason‘s work as an agent, and United is prepared to pay upwards of $100,000 in fines this season.

“I don’t think he will speak to us again,” Match of the Day pundit AlanShearer said. “Alex is a man of his word and a man of principle.”

The BBC documentary exposed access Jason Ferguson had at United though he was never found guilty of anywrongdoing.
