Among those on hand for Manchester City's 3-0 win over Liverpool on Monday night was Emirati owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who watched Man. City play at home for the first time since buying the club in 2008.

Sheikh has spent more than $540 million on players since his 2008 takeover, and 10 of the new signings started against Liverpool.

“It’s the first time the Sheikh has been here and he witnessed a fantastic night for Manchester City,” City's Italian manager, Roberto Mancini, said after the match. “I was pleased to show him a good game. That was important.”

Such is City's wealth of talent that more than $100 million in attacking talent was left out of the lineup. Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor and Spanish winger David Silva were on the bench, while Italian teenager Mario Balotelli is injured.
