[NORTH CAROLINA MEN] North Carolina reached the Men's College Cup in each of the last two seasons. But the Tar Heels, ranked No. 2 in the Soccer America
Preseason Top 25, could be even better in 2010. They'll find out quickly, opening at home on Sept. 3 against No. 1 Akron.
Elmar Bolowich probably
has the deepest team in 22 years as men's head coach.
Senior midfielder Michael Farfan was selected to the Soccer America MVPs second team in his
first year in Chapel Hill after transferring from Cal State Fullerton.
The attack is led by juniors Billy Schuler (9 goals, 6 assists) and Alex Dixon (8 goals, 1 assist) and sophomore Enzo Martinez (3 goals, 4 assists).
Also back are Eddie Ababio and Stephen McCarthy, a pair of seniors who redshirted a year ago.
Jalil Anibaba has transferred from Santa Clara, following the same path that McCarthy took.
The freshman class has an international flavor with the arrival of Bahamian
defender Anton Sealey and Costa Rican midfielder Bruno Castro.
