St. Lucia national team striker Isidore Philip Tisson was gunned down execution-style Sunday night in Brooklyn hours after he had scored the winning goal tolead a team representing St. Lucia to the final of the annual
Digicel Caribbean Cup.

The St. Lucia team will play the championship game against Jamaica in honor of Tisson, killedoutside a Crown Heights club where he celebrated the semifinal victory over St. Kitts. Tisson, who did not drink, left to buy bananas at a store and was sitting on his car with a friend when a gunmanapproached and killed him with a single shot to the skull.

The tournament is in its 19th year and features 12 representative teams from the Caribbean and South America. Tisson had arrivedin Brooklyn in May to represent the St. Lucian entrant.

He played for St. Lucia in both of its 2010 World Cup qualifying matches against Guatemala in 2008.
