Americans crushed in Peru opener

[U.S. U-20 MEN] The U.S. under-20 national team, victorious at the recent Milk Cup, was brought down to earth as it suffered a 5-0 loss to Paraguay in its opening game at the Cuadrangular Internacional in Arequipa, Peru.

Thomas Rongen started seven players from the Milk Cup championship team in his all-pro lineup, but the Americans were no match for Paraguay, which got three goals from Oscar Ruiz and two from Claudio Correa.

The USA plays Colombia Wednesday and host Peru Friday.

    Uggh, that video was painful. Our goalie made poor moves off his line, but the defending was lackluster as well - goal side of the man, boys, and challenge fast and hard in the box - don't be a spectator for the other team's strike!

    Something is terribly wrong! By now we should be competitive at this level.
