Ujfalusi suspended two games for Messi tackle

Atletico Madrid defender Tomas Ujfalusi was suspended for two games -- the minimum ban -- for the tackle in the Atletico Madrid-Barcelona game that will sideline Argentine star Lionel Messi for at least two games with a sprain to internal and external ligaments of his right ankle.

The Czech was shown a straight red card after he caught Messi's right ankle with his studs late in Sunday's game Barcelona won, 2-1, on Sunday. La Liga's disciplinary committee could have suspended him for up to a month.

He will miss Atletico's league games against Valencia on Wednesday and Real Zaragoza on Sunday.
