[KENTUCKY-LOUISVILLE] No. 11 Louisville won the battle for supremacy in the Bluegrass State with a 2-0 win at Kentucky before 2,107 fans and improved to 6-0-2,
setting a record for the best start of the season and tying the school record for the longest unbeaten streak.
The Cardinals started the last two seasons at 5-0-1 before suffering their first defeats.
Louisville, which outshot Kentucky 16-5, first got on the board in the 17th minute when a shot from Nick DeLeon bounced off the crossbar and in the scramble for the rebound freshman Dylan Mares was able to collect the ball, blasting it into the back of the net past Kentucky goalkeeper Tyler Beadle.
Louisville’s offensive pressure continued into the second half as it added a second goal 95 seconds after the break when Austin Berry headed in a corner kick from Kenney Walker.
