[AMERICANS ABROAD] For the first time since goalie Robert Green fumbled his shot and cost England a victory over the USA
at the World Cup, Clint Dempsey faced Green in the English Premier League and again scored for unbeaten Fulham in its 1-1 tie at West Ham on Saturday. Only this
time, Green didn't have a chance ...
Dempsey scored with a left-footed volley from short range that gave Fulham the lead.
“Every time I go out, I try to score goals," said the 27-year-old Texan. "It just so happens that I got the goal today against him."
Green, who lost his England starting job after his howler against the United States, was against excellent for the Hammers, making late saves on shots by Simon Davies and Dickson Etuhu to extend their unbeaten streak to four games.
"Fair play to him," added Dempsey. "I thought he had a really good game today, kept his team in the game and got them a point."
