Decio De Maria, secretary general of the Mexican soccer federation, says a “clear decision” has been made on the new Mexican national team coach.
Monterrey coach Victor Manuel Vucetich and Toluca’s Jose Manuel De la Torre are the two candidates for the job.
Interviewed on Tuesday, Vucetich said afterward he had been offered the job. After his interview on Thursday, de la Torre said, “I’m very happy at Toluca, but this job would offer adifferent status.”
A decision on Javier Aguirre‘s successor is expected to be announced on Oct. 18.
