Buddle leads MLS scoring race

[MLS BY THE NUMBERS/VIDEO] With two weeks left in the regular season, the Los Angeles Galaxy's Edson Buddle leads the race for top scorer with 16 goals.

Those with the best chance of overtaking Buddle are San Jose's Chris Wondolowski (14 goals), Toronto's Dwayne De Rosario, New York's Juan Pablo Angel and Philadelphia's Sebastien Le Toux, who have struck 13 times.

    Barring an extrordinary finish, Roy Lassiter will celebrate like the 1972 undefeated Miami Dolphins - his scoring feat of 27 goals in one season looks to remain the MLS record.

    Would love to have had a wee bit more comment about the top scorers -- if memory served me right, Wondolowski has played fewer minutes and taken less shots (in some cases significantly less) than any of the other top 5-6 scorers in MLS. An amazing season -- hope it continues!
