Faced with a rabid but rebellious fan base, Toronto FC is planning to meet with fans furious over front-office fiascos and skyrocketing ticket prices. Tom Anselmi, chief operating
officer of ownership group Maple Leaf Sports Entertainment, has pledged to correct the team's gaffes.
According to an e-mail sent to media outlets this week, members of the North End Elite will stand in silence at the remaining two home games as a protest to season-ticket price increases of 75 percent since the team's first season in 2007.
“Our job is real simple now,” Anselmi said. “It’s to deliver them a product they can be proud of, give them something to cheer about. We’re going to turn it around.”
