League commissioner Don Garber visited Toronto Tuesday to kick off publicity for the city’s Nov. 21 hosting of MLS Cup, and also dealt with questions regarding the local team. Fanshave protested a pending ticket increase in the wake of another disappointing season that prompted the dismissal of head coach Preki and manager Mo Johnston.

Raising ticket prices at the time they did was probably a decision they would do differently today,” said Garber. “They made a mistake but were man enough to admit it.”

Garber alsosaid he hopes fans with tickets — the championship game is part of the team’s season-ticket package — won’t boycott MLS Cup as a protest but rather “show the world their passion and love of thegame.”
