Salamanca's Miguel Garcia, the 31-year-old player who suffered a heart attack during a Spanish second division game on Sunday, left the hospital on Thursday.
Garcia, who
walked out under his own power and with a smile, was cleared by medical staff after spending the past few days undergoing tests. But doctors say his playing career is over.
Garcia collapsed
to the ground in the 61st minute of Sunday’s game against Real Betis and had to be revived by team doctors. The incident follows the deaths of two well-known Spanish players -- Sevilla's
Antonio Puerta and Espanyol's Daniel Jarque -- from heart-related problems in recent years.
