[WCC WOMEN] No. 2 Portland clinched its fourth consecutive West Coast Conference title and the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Women’s Tournament thanksto its 2-0 home win over San Francisco before 3,122 fans on Sunday afternoon.

Following Santa Clara’s 2-0 loss to Loyola Marymount on Sunday, the Pilots (6-0-0 WCC) have a two-game leadwith only one conference match remaining. The WCC does not sponsor a conference tournament.

The win over USF extended the Pilots’ WCC winning streak to 27 games and their home winningstreak to 35 games, the longest active streak in the nation.

They have not allowed a goal in six conference matches this year and are looking to join the 1998 Santa Clara squad as theonly WCC teams to accomplish that feat.

Sophomore midfielder Kendall Johnson put the Pilots on the board in the 29th minute with her first goal ofthe season, and junior Danielle Foxhoven added an insurance goal in the 54th minute.

Portland visits Saint Mary’s (8-7-3, 2-4-0) on Saturday.
