Aussie striker to leave D.C. United

Steven Goff reports that Australian forward Danny Allsopp will be leaving D.C. United after one season, he and the club having agreed to terminate his contract.

The 32-year-old, who in 15 pro seasons has played for 11 clubs, including Manchester City and Hull City, shared the club lead in league goals with five.

Among players who were with the team all season, Allsopp's $217,500 in guaranteed compensation was the highest on United's payroll.
