Program tribute goes awry

[OFF THE POST] Officials of Scottish club Airdrie United created a special Remembrance Day program for the club's clash with Livingston, including a photo of troops on a train being handed water by nurses on the platform. The troops in the photo -- accompanied by the words "Supporting Our Heroes" -- turned out to be German World War II soldiers.

Airdrie United secretary Ann Marie Ballantyne said, "A few people have picked up on this. It certainly was not deliberate. ... We were told the soldiers were Australian."

A photo with troops on a train had been picked because Network Rail had been lined up to be game sponsors.

Airdrie lost the game, 1-0.
