Uruguay 2010 World Cup hero Luis Suarez has been suspended by his club, Ajax Amsterdam, for two league matches after he bit PSV Eindhoven’s Otman Bakkal on
the shoulder during their 0-0 draw on Saturday.
Suarez could also face disciplinary action from the Dutch soccer federation (KNVB), which is investigating the incident that was missed by
the referee.
Ajax said Suarez would also pay an undisclosed fine that will be donated to charity. The Uruguayan scored three goals at the World Cup during Uruguay's fourth-place finish and
was red-carded for using his hands to save a Ghana shot in the quarterfinals. (Ghana missed the penalty kick and Uruguay prevailed in the penalty-kick shootout.)
Suarez has seven league
goals this season. He will be available for Tuesday’s Champions League match against Real Madrid.
