Zahavi scores in American debut

[U.S. UNDER-20 MEN] Alex Zahavi, who previously represented Portugal and is now based in Israel, scored the lone goal of the USA in its 1-1 tie with Colombia Friday in their U-20 match in the Torneo de las Americas in Kennesaw, Ga.

Zahavi teamed up with Los Angeles Galaxy striker Tristan Bowen and West Ham youth player Sebastian Lletget for the goal in first-half stoppage time.

Colombia equalized with five minutes to play and won the shootout, 3-1.

On Saturday, Mexico beat Colombia in a shootout after they played to a 2-2 tie.

The Torneo de las Americas concludes Sunday when the faces Mexico at Kennesaw State Soccer Stadium.
