Arreola scores Bruins' winner with eight seconds left in OT

[UCLA-DARTMOUTH MEN] Junior midfielder Eder Arreola sneaked in and scored off an errant clearance with eight seconds left in overtime to give UCLA a 2-1 win over Dartmouth and send the Bruins back to the quarterfinals.

Joe Sofia's throw-in was headed up by a Dartmouth defender in the box, where Arreola tapped the ball into the goal for his second goal of the night.

Arreola had put UCLA up 1-0 in the 26th minute on a curling shot to the upper right corner, but Dartmouth equalized on the hour mark after Bryan Giudicelli knocked in a rebound shot in front of the box.

Arreola's goal avoided UCLA's first shootout in 20 years. The Bruins won the 1990 national championship with Brad Friedel in goal when they edged Rutgers -- with Alexi Lalas -- on penalty kicks in the final.

The Bruins (16-4-1) will face top-seeded and undefeated Louisville (18-0-3) in Cardinal Park on Saturday. Dartmouth ends its season with a 12-7-1 mark.
