Third shootout wins sends Heels back to Men's College Cup

[NORTH CAROLINA-SMU MEN] North Carolina needed its third shootout win in three games -- an NCAA record -- to beat SMU and return to the Men's College Cup for the third year in a row.

Carolina claimed a 4-2 shootout win over the Mustangs after their game ended in a 1-1 tie to punched its ticket for Santa Barbara, Calif., where it will face top-seed Louisville in Friday's semifinals.

On SMU's first attempt, Josue Soto's shot deflected off the crossbar and UNC keeper Scott Goodwin stopped Leone Cruz on the Mustangs' third shot.
