Sven-Goran Eriksson, coach of struggling English second tier club Leicester, says he has failed in a bid to sign former England midfielder David Beckham from theLos Angeles Galaxy.
Eriksson says he spoke to David’s agent, but Galaxy said Beckham won’t be able to go on loan during the MLS offseason after he was injured during a stint atAC Milan in March.
Beckham is entering the final year of his Galaxy contract when the MLS season resumes in March. He was captain of England when Eriksson was in charge of the team from2001-06.
