Tough road lies ahead for Holden's Bolton

[AMERICANS ABROAD] Boxing Day was good for Stuart Holden's Bolton Wanderers, which beat West Bromwich Albion, 2-0, and moved into sixth place in the English Premier League.

Bolton got goals from Matt Taylor and Swede Johan Elmander and repelled a flurry of West Brom chances.

Holden, playing in his first holiday season in the EPL, had two late chances for Bolton, which takes to the road this week for games at Chelsea on Wednesday and Liverpool.

The New Year will bring some tough decisions for Bolton and its manager, Owen Coyle. If Coyle wants to upgrade his squad for the second-half push, he'll have to raise money by selling one or more players.

The names most often mentioned are defender Gary Cahill and Elmander, who have both been linked to Liverpool.
