Business as usual for Chile, next U.S. opponent

Argentine Marcelo Bielsa, who led Chile to the 2010 World Cup finals, will coach the Roja against the United States Jan. 22 at the Home Depot Center despite
announcing early in November that he was quitting the job.
Chile ended a 48-year winless drought at the World Cup when it beat Honduras in its opening game and reached the second round
where it fell to Brazil. Bielsa resigned in November when Jorge Segovia was elected head of the Chilean federation (ANFP) in an upset victory over Harold Mayne-Nicholls, who had appointed the Argentine .
Segovia's victory was later voided when he was declared ineligible due to commercial conflicts of interest, leading to speculation that Bielsa might
take back his resignation.
"Marcelo will prepare the match against the U.S, because it's in his contract," Juan Carlos Berliner, head of the ANFP's
national team's department, said. "He will take the appropriate decision once the elections have been held, but until then he will continue to work as usual with the senior national team."
