American striker Kenny Cooper is leaving German second division club 1860 Munich, for which he scored twice in 12 appearances since arriving from FC Dallas in August of 2009.

The 26-year-old, who played on loan with Plymouth Argyle from January 2010 through June as it was relegated to the English third division, will reportedly join MLS expansion club PortlandTimbers. Cooper, who suffered knee and ankle injuries since moving to Europe, made just one appearance for 1860 Munich this season.

1860 Munich is under pressure to sell players because ithas debts exceeding $5 million.
