Zizzo heads up the coast

[MLS] Former UCLA midfielder Sal Zizzo, who played 10 games for Chivas USA after the team won his rights in a weighted
lottery, is headed to the expansion Portland Timbers in exchange for allocation money.
Zizzo, 23, left the Bruins in 2007 after two collegiate seasons to play in Germany for
Hannover, for which he played eight first-team matches and also turned out for the reserve team. He went on loan to Fortuna Dusseldorf but couldn't play because of an illness, and he missed the entire
2009-10 season after suffering a torn ACL.
Following his recovery and rehab, the native of San Diego signed with MLS in July of last year. One of his Chivas USA appearances came as a
starter and he recorded one assist in league play.
He played for the USA at the 2007 U-20 World Cup in Canada and in August of that year debuted for the senior national team in a friendly
against Sweden.
