-- Dr. Yves Jean-Bart, the president of the Haitian soccer federation, on how the Haitian U-17 national team players were treated by Jamaican authorities at the U-17 Concacaf championship after some became ill with a fever that was later determined to be malaria. Jean-Bart said team members were placed in quarantine and armed guards "blocked the exit." Haiti was forced to withdraw from the competition. On Saturday, thousands of Haitians took part in a three-hour protest march in Port-au-Prince demonstrating against what they called Jamaica's discriminatory and humiliating treatment of the Haitian team.
