Adu stars in Turkish debut, Altidore injured

[AMERICANS ABROAD] The news out of Turkey this weekend was mixed. Freddy Adu played his first competitive game in 10 months, starting for Rizespor and earning two assists in its 3-0 win over Orduspor, while Jozy Altidore limped off with a twisted ankle in the first half of Bursaspor's 4-1 loss to visiting Gaziantepspor. Bursaspor would have moved into a first-place tie, at least temporarily, with a win in the Turkish Super Lig, the country's elite division.

Adu earned praise for his debut with Rizespor, which moved into third place in the Turkish second division, two points off the lead held by Samsunspor.
