Concorde Fire and Tulsa SC clinch titles

[NATIONAL LEAGUE] Concorde Fire Elite (U-16 Red division) and Tulsa SC (U-17 Blue division) clinched U.S. Youth Soccer National League titles over the holiday weekend at Weston Regional Park in Weston, Fla.

Concorde became the first National League boys team to earn a place in the 2011 U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships when it clinched the U-16 Boys Red division Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Raiders FC --  revenge for the loss to the Illinois by the same score at last year’s National Championships.

The winner came just five minutes in on a goal by Cameron Mosely after Trexler Bennett's cross to the top of the box was nodded forward by Shaban Abousaud and then Henry Chancy.

Needing only a draw to win its division, TSC held on to earn a 1-1 tie with Javanon after the Kentucky club had evened the game with 20 minutes to play.

The National Championships will be held July 27-31 in Phoenix, Ariz.

Four of the six boys groups are still up for grabs and will be decided after the final weekend of play March 18-20 at the 2011 Players Soccer Showcase in Las Vegas.
