USA rallies for eighth title

[ALGARVE CUP] Any doubt that the USA is still on top of its game in women's soccer was put to rest at the Algarve Cup, where it came back from a 2-1 deficit to beat Iceland, 4-2, and win the tournament for the eighth time. Carli Lloyd, Lauren Cheney, Heather O'Reilly and Alex Morgan scored for the Americans, who won all four games at the tournament in Portugal and scored 12 goals.

The USA outshot Iceland, 24-8, but trailed until Cheney's stoppage-time goal in the first half after Iceland scored twice to take a 2-1 lead.

Morgan was awarded the top scorer award based on the playing the fewest amount of minutes during the tournament of the players who tallied three times.

Up next is a match against England on April 2 at Leyton Orient’s Brisbane Road. The USA will leave for Europe on March 21 to train before the match.

Would have been nice to see the games on television. I took high school girls to see USA vs. Germany last year in Cleveland. I have to look long and travel far to see any semi-pro or pro women's soccer.
