As it turns out, Real Salt Lake coach Jason Kreis did pull his team off the field to stop a brawl between his players and those of Sporting Kansas City Tuesday, but other
information culled from Twitter and other sources turned out to be incorrect.
Wizards press spokesman Rob Thomson said that attacker Omar Bravo did not
kick RSL midfielder Javier Morales in the head, as had been alleged. “He did not — in any way, shape or form,” Thomson said. “He was the last one in the deal.
... That's what everyone has said.”
SKC head coach Peter Vermes confirmed to a Kansas City news outlet that a bad tackle by Roger Espinoza on Morales
sparked the scuffle.
The teams played a match of mostly reserve players Wednesday and RSL won, 1-0, on a goal by Paulo Junior. The league office has not issued any
statement regarding the incident.
