If he is to challenge to FIFA President Sepp Blatter in the June 1 election, Mohamed bin Hammam plans to announce his intentions soon.
UEFA president Michel Platini's decision to not run has cleared the path for bin Hammam, the Asian Football Confederation president who said this week, "Within 10 days I will formally declare whether I will stand or not."
Of the changes in policy he would attempt to implement, the Qatari native who sits on the 24-man FIFA executive committee said, "I would call for more transparency in FIFA, to widen the decision-making base and bodies within FIFA. I'd engage stakeholders more and give them a real platform to express their wishes. We cannot ignore the clubs. We should respect the clubs and it is for the clubs also to respect the member associations."
