Sundhage picks team for U.K. trip

[U.S. WOMEN] U.S. women’s national team head coach Pia Sundhage picked 23 players to take part in a 20-day training camp in England and Scotland that will include the USA’s first match in England on April 2 at Brisbane Road in East London (TV: ESPN2, live 3 p.m. ET).

Sundhage is taking 22 of the 24 players who traveled to the 2011 Algarve Cup USA won. The only player who played in Portugal not going to England is Whitney Engen.

Her former North Carolina teammate, midfielder Meghan Klingenberg, will join the team. She played for the U-23s in early March during their victory at the Four Nations Tournament in La Manga, Spain.

After the England game, the USA will travel to Scotland for four more days of training and a closed-door training match against Scotland.
