MLS mobilizes aid for victims

[JAPAN RELIEF] MLS W.O.R.K.S., Major League Soccer’s community outreach initiative, will launch a league-wide campaign to support the American and Canadian Red Cross disaster relief efforts following the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan.
 
“On behalf of Major League Soccer and all of our clubs, I would like to express our deepest sympathy and extend our thoughts and prayers to all of those affected by the terrible earthquake and tsunami in Japan,” said MLS Commissioner Don Garber.
 
MLS fans will also have the opportunity to bid on autographed memorabilia at www.MLSsoccer.com/works. Funds raised from the online auction will be donated to the Red Cross disaster relief fund.

Donations can be made in the United States by texting REDCROSS to 90999 or donating online at RedCross.org or in Canada by texting ASIA to 30333 or donating online at RedCross.ca.
