Monterrey's dominance continues

[CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] Monterrey's dominance in the Concacaf Champions League continued as it beat Mexican rival Cruz Azul, 2-1, in the first leg of their semifinal series.

Sergio Santana scored the winning goal early in the second half to give Monterrey its eighth win to go along with one tie in nine games in Concacaf play this season.

Neri Cardozo had given the Rayados the lead in the first half, but Adrian Cortes evened the score on a free kick with only the fifth goal Monterrey has allowed in Concacaf play.

The Monterrey-Cruz Azul winner will face Real Salt Lake or Saprissa in the final.

This article needed to include who hosted the game. It's crucial info, since if Monterrey won on the road, they're really in a commanding position, whereas a 2-1 lead after the home game is 'the lead that really isn't.'
